It’s finally built… now you have to promote your Online Course.
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while now, you know that I am on a mission to share as much as I freakin’ can about building your online course.
Why? Because I SERIOUSLY think it’s the best way for you to generate an income stream that can reach more people and therefore make you more money!
And, we all love hearing that cash machine bing bang and boom!
To make that happen first we have to HAVE an online course idea that we know works – if you have validated your idea yet, head over to my Facebook Group where I shared EXACTLY how to do this (and it’s fun too). Just post that you want to learn about it and I’ll link you to it.
Now you can start promoting that baby, scroll down for 12 kick-ass ways to do just that.
Share good stuff:
Promoting can be tough, but I promise if you choose 2-3 of these ideas you will FEEL amazing and it will be easy to get the ball rolling.
In fact, I’d LOVE to hear which ones you are going to (or have) tried. Or what else have you done?
I’m always down for learning a thing or two, so share your brain with me!
Post it in the Facebook Group!

Promote your online course IDEA #1: Start an affiliate program
Literally, there are hundreds of Affiliate programs out there for you to share your online course. Just make sure it fits with the course you offer.
If you don’t know what affiliates are, they are basically partners that will blog or post about your online course in return for a percentage of each sale they bring in.
You may offer 50% for every sale that comes from their links for larger product prices and maybe 10% for smaller ones.
NOTE: Affiliates SOUND easy, but it is generally not the #1 first choice, you MUST already have proof that people will buy it.
But, it can work as a 3rd choice after you’ve made some sales or in tandem with other things.
Promote your online course Ideas #2: Go LIVE on facebook and share your best 5 tips
Pick 5 tips from your online course that are really powerful then GO LIVE on facebook and share them with your audience.
You can do this on your personal page, your group or your business page.
Personally, I would recommend going live on your facebook business page and then sharing it to the other locations. Just be sure you can watch each are for comments and questions.
If you have never done a LIVE – now is the time girl! Swallow that fear and make it happen!
Promote your online course #3: Comment in other Facebook Groups
Engage with other Facebook Group that is relatable to your Courses
BEFORE YOU DO THAT THOUGH, create a timeline image that talks about your online course AND has a link to its sales page.
Cause, when you post AH-HA’s for other people, they want to know more about you , and the 1st thing they’re going to do is check out your profile…and THEN they’ll see that beautiful timeline image and click on it to see the link in the description.

Promote your online course #4: Send out a press release
Start spreading the news!
You have an online course and you want the world to know it baby!
A press release is a short, to the point news release that helps the media find good stories and interesting products to share with their audience.
A killer headline will help you attract attention. Use any of these to find out how well your headline will do:
Once you have it written and ready with that headline all set and KAPOW! – get it out there. A great place to start is PR WEB. Tons of reporters access this site daily and are always souring for new things. Let yours be the one they find.
Promote your online course #5: Post long form on LinkedIn and Medium
Do not underestimate the power of LinkedIn! The audience is slightly different than Facebook, but there are MUCH more then just job searchers and business men over there.
It’s one of the best places to talk about your business because…that’s WHAT IT’S FOR!
IT’S A BUSINESS NETWORK
So, when you are ready, create a LONG form post, which is basically a blog post on LinkedIn where you can add a header image and add cool looking quotes and link and more. Share the ways that your online course is going to help so many people and use some hashtags to get extra notice!
Promote your online course #6: Guest blog on other business blogs where your audience lives
Hunt out some blogs that attracts your target audience (you likely already know a few because you probably read them), then see if they offer guest posting.
Hit them up and ask if you could be a guest blogger for them.
Creating content on a regular basis is tough, so most business owners are open to having other help them with this.
DO NOT SELL in your post, but rather share some key tips that are directly related to your course. Then, share a link to your landing page or to a blog post that connect to your sales page.

Promote your online course #7: Write a book for Amazon
I recently listened to a podcast where the guest shared that her book on Amazon consistently brings in buyers without her doing anything.
All she did was write a book (ok, not a small feat, but guuurl, what a great investment?), and drop it on Amazon as a e-book only that gives loads of how-to’s and helpful tips so the reader gains a ton of knowledge, but they want MORE MORE MORE!!
So, they head over to her website that she shares in the book and ta-da! There is the online course that fills in the blanks.
Don’t make this tough. Try writing a chapter per week. In 26 weeks you’ll have a 26-chapter book!
Promote your online course #8: Host a few webinars!
Have you heard that webinars are dead?
Nopity nope nope!
The power of the intimate setting of a webinar still hold firm. With facebook LIVE’s there is just too much distraction with constant newsfeed scrolling and the notification bell going off.
I suggest you use a webinar platform that takes your audience away from all of that so it’s just them and you. No distractions or pinging!
There are lots of options out there, just google it and find one that feels right for you.
Promote your online course #9: Use a mini course on Udemy or Skillshare
Use a mini course on UDEMY or Skillshare this is to give them a brief idea of what you are trying to offer them, what they will expect and with this mini course your audience will grow.
A mini course might be made up of repurposed content you’ve published on your blog, or it might be one unit from a larger online course you created.
It’s a great way to get exposed to a market that had no idea you even existed!
You can add it as a free course or a paid course – I’d recommend a low fee if it’s paid so more people will buy it and love you and want more from you!
Promote your online course #10: Use a mini version as a freebie
Give `em a little surprise in their mailbox!
Create a mini version of your online course just like previously mentioned and use it through your email system as a lead generator.
So, create a form on your website or a link that you can share on social media where they can sign up to get access to one full lesson of your course or a scaled down version that gives them enough to feel impressed and more knowledgeable, but also makes them want more from you.
Promote your online course #11: Start a podcast around your topic
Podcasting is a fabulous way to reach your audience and for new ones to find you.
And, they are pretty simple to get started.
You can do them in so many different ways; interview style where you bring in experts, Q&A where you answer audience questions, knowledge sharing from you only, and more.
Then all you need is a podcast host (I recommend Blubrry), a mic (or use your phone) and a great background sound (less noise the better – your car has amazing acoustics!
At the end always remind them about your online course.
Promote your online course #12: Video blog on Youtube!
From Podcast to a Youtube sensation!
Alright, why not start a Vlog? They say once you’re on Youtube you’re a Star.
Being on video can be tough, but it is the BEST WAY to build trust from afar.
Share mini tips from your online course and your business.
Always include the link to everything you talk about and you’ll soon start to see results!
Video is where it’s at! PROMISE!
