Hey there, this is Amanda Ross with Brand In A Snap. And today we’re at number nine, in the top 10 ways that your website is saying no to your clients. And you want it to be saying yes. Big thumbs up yeah, okay? That’s what we want to be happening, so this is number nine.
In number nine it’s “Slow down!” said nobody ever. Nobody that goes to a website wants it be slower. We want it to be fast. Lightning fast. We don’t got time, I ain’t got no time. I ain’t got no time to sit around to wait for a website to load. Nobody else does either.
We wanna make sure that our websites are loading quickly, that it’s not like there’s a little thing going around, and around, and around, and I’m like getting hypnotized by this thing that’s going around and around telling me it’s loading and nothing’s actually happening. I want to die, okay?

We want to make sure that our website is fast, because what’s gonna happen is nobody’s gonna wait, they’re gonna be gone. Zero people are going to stay and wait around for your website to load, if it’s taking longer than three to five seconds. That’s fast, okay? And even at seven seconds, like count that out right now. One Mississippi, two Mississippi. Oh, that was seven right. So, felt like a really long time right?
Can you imagine waiting for something? That’s a long time. Seven seconds is actually a long time.
We want our website to be moving way faster than that.
If you’re website’s taking a long time to load, you’ve got to start looking at why that’s happening.
- Do you have too many files on the website?
- Are you using a particular plug-in that is doing something that’s bogging everything down?
- There are certain plug-ins on Word Press that are really heavy, and if you don’t know which ones are doing what, then you could alleviate this problem really quickly by knowing that it’s a plug-in and just getting rid of that plug-in, right?
- Or are you not updating your plug-ins in a timely manner?
- You’re not updating Word Press as a whole in a timely manner?
There’s lots of reasons why that can be happening. Maybe you’ve got a whole ton of videos and PDFs and all this stuff, sitting on your server, and every time it loads your website, it has to load all of that stuff up. There’s lots of ways to alleviate those things.
If your website is slow, ya gotta look at it, especially nowadays. Google doesn’t like a slow website. Google does not like it, and like I said before in another video, we don’t like it when Google’s not happy with us, we like a happy Google. Happy Google makes us happy, okay? So we need Google to be happy, and a fast website does that.
