Hey there. This is Amanda Ross with Brand In A Snap, and this is video number three in our top 10 Ways that Your Website Is Saying NO To Your Clients when we want it to be saying yes.
This is number three, and in number three we’re talking about the Google gods, the Google gods said so. It’s what the Google gods said to us is that your website has to be secure.
Security is super important, especially for small-business owners, because small-business owners unfortunately don’t focus on this area too much. And this is actually a really, really crucial area for small-business owners, because they are the number one most targeted websites for hackers and malware attacks.
We want to do our best to make sure that we’re not getting hacked and not getting malware on our site. We want to do what we can to alleviate those things. You can never be perfect, but we can do our best.

Okay, and so one of the things that Google wants is you to have an httpS on your website. So, instead of just http and then your domain, it will say https.
The S stands for Security. No, it doesn’t, I’m lying to you. It doesn’t stand for that, but I think it should.
Your https gives you a security certificate, and the reason why we want a security certificate is that it allows you to get that S, and it allows Google to really love you. Because Google’s penalizing websites that don’t have https, who don’t have an SSL certificate.
The security certificate gives us just an extra layer of security on our website, so that if you’re taking people’s information or credit card information, especially if you’re taking credit card information, you’ve got to have the S. There’s no messing around here.
You’ve got to have a security certificate, especially there. We really want Google to be happy, and if Google’s not happy, we’re not happy, so we want Google to be happy. That’s really why it’s important to have the https.
On top of all the other reasons of being secure, we want Google to be happy.
All right, so that was video number three.
